How to apply for SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2018
Candidates must apply online through the website http://www.ssconline.nic.in Or ‘Click here to apply’ link provided at http://www.ssc.nic.in>Apply>GD-Constable from 20 July to 20 August 2018.
Application fee of Rs. 100 can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, MasterCard or Maestro Credit or Debit card. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2018 eligibility criteria
Age limit-18-23 years as on 01.08.2018. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.08.1995 and later than 01.08.2000. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons in accordance with the Government’s orders on the subject.
Educational qualification– Candidate must have passed Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University as on 01.08.2018.
SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2018 selection process
The recruitment process will consist of Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Examination.
Computer Based Examination
Computer Based Examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks, with the following composition. Total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. The computer based examination will be conducted in English and Hindi only.
Part-A- General Intelligence and Reasoning- 25 questions (25 marks)
Part-B- General Knowledge and General Awareness-25 questions (25 marks)
Part –C- Elementary Mathematics- 25 questions (25 marks)
Part-D- English/ Hindi- 25 questions (25 marks)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
• Race for Male candidates- 5 Kms in 24 minutes.
• Race for Female candidates- 5 Kms in 8 ½ minutes.
• Race for Ladakh Region Male candidates- 1 Mile in 6 ½ minutes.
• Race for Ladakh Region Female candidates- 800 metres in 4 minutes.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
• Height for General, SC & OBC candidates – 170 cms for Male and 157 cms for female
• Chest for General, SC & OBC candidates (Unexpanded/Minimum expansion) – 80/ 5 cms for Male
Both the above mentioned qualifications are relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons in accordance with the Government’s orders on the subject.
